Duncan Godefroy

DUNCAN GODEFROY, 59, is Managing Director of Sutton Harbour Holdings,
the operators of Plymouth’s historic harbour and property developers
along the waterfront. Duncan Godefroy joined Sutton Harbour in 1962,
after a career in the transport industry. He has been a Director of the
company since 1966 and is the principal architect of its transformation
from a run-down commercial harbour to a successful business with
interests ranging from fisheries to a yacht marina and boat building
complex as well as a significant property developer. In 1973, Duncan
Godefroy became Managing Director of Sutton Harbour Company and CEO of
Sutton Harbour Holdings in 1989. Duncan is a noted local historian with
a particular interest in historic Sutton Harbour and the surrounding
Barbican area. He is also a Justice of the Peace who regularly sits in
Court in his home town of Plymouth. He is a member of the Chartered
Institute of Transport and a Fellow of the Royal Society for the
Encouragement of Arts, Manufacturing, and Commerce.
