John Midgley

DR. JOHN MIDGLEY, President and Chief Executive Officer, joined
Lightwave Microsystems, Inc. as a consultant in March 1998 and was
appointed President and CEO in September 1998. Most recently, Dr.
Midgley was Vice President and Director of Corporate Technology at
Raychem Corporation. Dr. Midgley was also General Manager and Operations
Manager of various divisions during his 21 years at Raychem. Dr. Midgley
received his PhD from Cambridge University, UK, titled ‘Laser
Interferometry of Plasmas,’ his BA in Electrical Engineering from Oxford
University, UK and an MBA from Stanford University. Dr. Midgley was also
admitted to the Bar, Grays Inn in the United Kingdom.
