David Newman

DR. DAVID NEWMAN, Vice President of Engineering, and a founder of
Alidian Networks Inc., was formerly Vice President of Engineering at
Rapid City Communications, a gigabit Ethernet startup acquired by Bay
Networks in 1997. Previously he had been Vice President of Engineering
for FORE Systems’ LAN Switching Division, formed when FORE acquired
publicly held Alantec in 1996. Dr. Newman also spent eight years with
Digital Equipment Corporation as senior engineering manager for the
Networks and Communications Division, and has held positions with NCR
and Fairchild Semiconductor. He holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering
from Colorado State University, an MS in Physics from the University of
Connecticut and a BS in Physics from City College of New York.
