Alastair Riddell

DR ALASTAIR RIDDELL, MSc, MB, ChB, MRCGP, MFPM, was appointed Chief
Executive Officer of Pharmagene Plc in January 1998, joining from
Caremark (UK) Ltd, where he was Managing Director. His career began in
biological research and then medicine, including six years in acute
hospital specialities and general practice. He entered the
pharmaceutical industry in 1983 holding senior clinical development
posts in Lederle, Xoma, Celltech and Centocor before moving to sales and
marketing. He was worldwide Head of Marketing for the healthcare
division of Amersham International before being made General Manager of
its Northern Europe organisation. Dr Riddell is responsible for setting
the strategic direction of the company and its commercial plans.
