Douglas D. Ramos

DOUGLAS D. RAMOS is a Senior Equity portfolio manager and head of Growth
& Income Equities at The Dreyfus Corporation. He manages four
portfolios: Dreyfus Balanced Fund, Inc., Dreyfus Growthand Income Fund,
Inc., Dreyfus Premier Growth and Income Fund and Dreyfus Variable
Investment Fund ‘ Growth and Income Portfolio. Prior to joining Dreyfus
in July 1997, Mr. Ramos was a 12-year veteran of Loomis, Sayles &
Company, L.P. I Pasadena, California. Most recently he served as an
Investment Counselor where he managed $1.9 billion of the office’s $4.1
billion in equity portion of balanced funds. Mr. Ramos joined Loomis in
1985 as a vice president and portfolio manager. He became a partner in
1987, a senior partner in 1990 and a member of the Equity Policy
Committee in 1992. From 1982 to 1985, Mr. Ramos served as a portfolio
manager and Analyst at Lloyd’s Bank. He began his career with
Manufacturers Hanover Trust as an Analyst in 1980. Mr. Ramos is graduate
of the University of Rhodes Island. He is Chartered Financial Analyst
(CFA) and a Chartered Investment Counselor (CIC).
