Don W. Dickson

DON W. DICKSON is President of Market*Access International and
Vice President of Homeland Defense Journal. In May 1997, Mr.
Dickson co-founded Market*Access, providing professional sales,
marketing and event management services to the federal IT
community. In January 2002, Mr. Dickson formed the Homeland
Defense Journal newspaper. The paper is published two times a
month and now has over 50,000 readers. Mr. Dickson earned a BA in
International Relations and Economics and completed studies
toward an MS in Computer Science at American University. While in
college, he formed his own company, providing public relations
and consulting services to national associations based in the
Washington, DC, area. In 1967, he joined AT&T Long Lines
Department in the Management Development Program. In 1969, he
joined RCA Computer Systems Division where he managed the
marketing of computers for military communications and message
switching applications. In 1972, Mr. Dickson joined CSC where he
held a broad range of management positions over 20 years within
the Systems Group. In 1992, Mr. Dickson joined the consulting
firm of Federal Sources, Incorporated, where he led the
development of the very successful ‘Winning in Government’ series
of training courses, which addressed the federal evaluation and
source selection process for ‘best value’ contracting. His
primary area of expertise is the federal acquisition and source
selection process, Best Value selection techniques and the
management of client marketing and sales activities. Mr. Dickson
has served a full term on the Board of Directors, AFCEA
International.
