Dean S. Read

Dean S. Read has been President and CEO of Bar Harbor Banking and Trust
Company and Bar Harbor Bankshares in Bar Harbor, Maine, since April
2000; from January 2000 to April 2000, he was Executive Vice President.
Prior to joining Bar Harbor, he was with KeyBank National Association in
Augusta, Maine, serving from May 1997 as Senior Relationship Manager for
the corporate banking community middle market in the central, mid-coast
and western Maine areas. From 1996 to May 1997, Mr. Read was a Regional
Specialty Lending Credit Officer with KeyBank of Northeast, responsible
for dealer finance, structured finance, agricultural lending and the
Small Business Service Center. From 1992 to 1996 he was a Senior Credit
Officer and Senior Credit Administrator with KeyBank of Maine in
Augusta. From 1986 to 1992, he was Senior Vice President and started
asset-based financial services at the bank, building the function to $60
million. Mr. Read was a Senior Commercial Loan Officer at Depositors
Trust Company in Rockland, Maine (KeyBank in 1984) from 1983-1986, from
1981 to 1983 he was a Senior Loan Officer with Northern National Bank in
Presque Isle, Maine, and from 1977 to 1981 he was Vice President-
Commercial Lending and Manager of Northern National Bank’s Presque Isle
Office. In 1977, Mr. Read was Vice President-Commercial Lending at
Depositors Trust Company in Augusta and from 1970 to 1977 he held
various other positions with Depositors Trust. Mr. Read has a BS degree
in Management, Finance major, from Husson College in Bangor, Maine.
