David M. Rickey

DAVID M. RICKEY has served as President, Chief Executive Officer and
Director of Applied Micro Circuits Corporation (AMCC) since February
1996. From 1993 to May 1995, Mr. Rickey served as the Company’s Vice
President of Operations. From May 1995 to February 1996, he served as
Vice President of Operations at NexGen, a semiconductor company.
Previously, Mr. Rickey spent more than eight years with Northern Telecom
(NorTel), a telecommunications manufacturer, where he led the wafer fab
engineering and manufacturing operations in both Ottawa, Canada and San
Diego, California. He also worked in various engineering positions with
IBM from 1981-1985. Mr. Rickey has earned Bachelor’s of Science degrees
from both Marietta College (summa cum laude) and Columbia University. In
addition, he earned a Master of Science degree in Material Sciences and
Engineering from Stanford University.
