D. Tony Stelliga

D. TONY STELLIGA is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Quellan,
Inc. He joined Quellan as an Advisor in 2001 and became Chairman in
September 2002. Mr. Stelliga accepted the additional responsibility of
Chief Executive Officer in February 2003. Before joining Quellan, Mr.
Stelliga held various management and strategic positions at Intel
Corporation including General Manager, Optical Processing Division. Mr.
Stelliga lead much of Intel’s entry into Broadband Networking following
the acquisition of Softcom Microsystems where he was Founder and CEO. He
earned the President’s Intel Achievement Award in 2002 for these
efforts. From 1995 to 1999, as CEO and Founder at Softcom, Mr. Stelliga
developed leading edge Network Processors. These products were developed
for use in Backbone Routers and Enterprise Switches for companies such
as Cisco and Nortel. Intel Corporation acquired Softcom Microsystems in
1999. Before starting Softcom, Mr. Stelliga started and grew the Telecom
Products Division at LSI Logic. This effort lead to the development of
the industry’s first network processor and single chip enterprise
switches. Mr. Stelliga grew the division from start to $100 million plus
in revenues and a staff of over 150 employees, serving key customers
such as Cisco, Nortel, Alcatel and Extreme. Prior to his tenure at LSI
Logic, he was at Newbridge Networks Inc. in Canada where he participated
in the startup of Newbridge Microsystems. Mr. Stelliga ran engineering,
marketing and sales for this OEM interconnect division. In 1998, the
division was spun out to create a public company named Tundra
Semiconductor. In the mid-1980s he developed ASIC and DSP-based modems
for high speed communications use at Gandalf-Infotron Networks in
Ottawa, Canada. Mr. Stelliga received a BSc in Computer Science from the
University of Ottawa where he also commenced his MBA studies. He
currently holds 16 patents in broadband networking and processing
architectures and has hosted panels and presented several papers at
networking conferences worldwide.
