CARL SCHLACHTE, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of
BOPS, Inc., has 15 years of experience in the microprocessor industry,
and he has held executive, sales and engineering positions at ARM and
Motorola. Mr. Schlachte came to BOPS after three and a half years at
ARM, Ltd., where he was Vice President of Sales for North America. Mr.
Schlachte was one of the first employees of ARM in the US and was
largely responsible for ARM’s success and eventual IPO. Mr. Schlachte
was responsible for establishing ARM’s sales presence in North America
and eventually more than half of the company’s revenues and more than
half of ARM’s licensing partners. His ability to grow, organize and
manage ARM’s North American organization made him a key contributor to
ARM’s success. Prior to helping establish ARM as a de facto standard,
Mr. Schlachte was in Motorola’s World Marketing Group, where he was a
key member of the Power PC team. Among other things, Mr. Schlachte led
Apple’s transition from the 68K platform to the Power PC platform from
1991 to 1996. Before that, he held various sales, sales management and
distribution management positions.
