Carl L. Valdiserri

CARL L. VALDISERRI is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Rouge
Steel Company. He has been Chairman and CEO since 1989. From 1987 until
1989 he was an independent consultant regarding the steel industry,
principally to The Chase Manhattan Bank, N.A. From 1982 until 1987, Mr.
Valdiserri was Executive Vice President of Weirton Steel Corporation.
Mr. Valdiserri joined Weirton Division of National Steel Corporation in
1978. He was Chief Engineer in the Great Lakes Division of National
Steel Corporation from 1973 to 1978 and held various other engineering
positions from 1964 to 1972. He began his career with Wheeling-
Pittsburgh Steel Corporation in 1958 after receiving his bachelor’s
degree in Mechanical Engineering from Notre Dame University. Mr.
Valdiserri has 39 years of experience in the steel manufacturing
industry. Mr. Valdiserri presently serves on the Board of Directors of
the American Iron and Steel Institute and Champion Enterprises, Inc. of
Auburn Hills, Michigan.
