Camille Jayne

CAMILLE JAYNE is currently Executive Chairman of the Board of Universal
Electronics, Inc. (UEI). She was brought onboard at UEI in February,
1998 (revenues of $89M) as President and COO. Ms. Jayne was promoted to
Chairman and CEO in mid-1998, and elevated to Executive Chairman of the
Board in October, 2000. She was brought to UEI in February 1998 to ‘turn
the company around’ and reposition the business. By the beginning of
2000, Ms. Jayne and her team brought UEI to having no debt, and have
consistently posted record revenue and earnings results ‘ either meeting
or beating analysts’ projections each quarter. UEI’s share is expanding
in the growing marketplace. Ms. Jayne gained her digital TV experience
while Senior Vice President of TCI’s Digital TV Division, where she
managed the technical, operations, and product development of TCI’s
digital cable TV launch into the marketplace. This was the first digital
TV cable entry in the marketplace spearheaded by John Malone, and
launched digital TV for the industry nationwide. Prior to TCI, Ms. Jayne
was a Senior Consultant at Ryan Partnership and BHC Consulting,
specializing in strategic planning and business development. Major
clients were/are: Hewlett-Packard, Sun Microsystems, DEC, TCI, General
Instrument, US West, Ameritech, The Golf Channel, Fetzer Winery, Korbel
Champagne, Kelloggs and Nabisco. Prior to consulting, Ms. Jayne was
Senior Director of New Ventures at Ameritech, where she pioneered
product and business development work in electronic and interactive
media services across several distribution channels, including TV and
telephone. Ms. Jayne’s product development expertise was established in
new product development at the Pillsbury Company, as well as in the
Vidal Sassoon Division of Proctor & Gamble. She then entered the
financial services arena where, as First Vice President of Product
Management and Corporate Advertising at Comerica Bank she managed the $7
billion core liability businesses for five years. She was instrumental
in designing and implementing revolutionary new products, including
putting full-service banks in supermarkets ‘ one of the first such
programs in the country ‘ starting a trend adopted natonwide by banks
such as Wells Fargo and Citibank. Ms. Jayne graduated with Distinction
from Stanford University, with a degree in Design and Biology, as well
as a Masters in Product Design also from Stanford University. She later
received a Masters in Business Administration in Marketing from the
University of Michigan. Ms. Jayne is Executive Chairman of the Board of
Universal Electronics, and on the Board of Directors of Interface Data
Systems. She was on the Board of Directors of V-Bits Technology, a
company specializing in digital insertion/statistical multiplexing ‘
which was just recently sold to Cisco Systems. She is also a member of
the Elite Who’s Who of Female Executives.
