C. Mark Pearson

C. MARK PEARSON became President and Chief Executive Officer of
CARBO Ceramics Inc. in April 2001 after serving the company for
four years as Vice President of Marketing and Technology. He is
an Adjunct Professor of Petroleum Engineering at the Colorado
School of Mines and was previously employed by Gulf Oil and ARCO
where he held a variety of technical and management positions in
engineering and operations. Dr. Pearson is a graduate of the
Camborne School of Mines (UK) where he received Bachelor of
Science and PhD degrees. He is also a graduate of the Advanced
Management Program of Harvard Business School.
