Brian Count

BRIAN COUNT is Chief Executive of Innogy Holdings. After graduating in mathematics from King’s College, Cambridge, Dr Brian Count joined the Central Electricity Generating Board in 1974, working on renewable energy technologies. He gained a PhD from Exeter University. At privatisation in 1990, he joined National Power as Project Development Director, and was Director of Operations when appointed to the Board in 1996. Brian became Managing Director of National Power’s UK Operations (now renamed Innogy) in 1999. Dr Count assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer on 1 September 2001. Prior to this he was Chief Operating Officer of Innogy. Dr Count, 50, is married and has three sons.
