BRADLEY S. JACOBS has served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of
United Rentals since its founding in August 1997. In 1989 Mr. Jacobs
founded United Waste Systems, Inc. and served as its Chairman and Chief
Executive Officer from its inception through 1997, helping to build that
company into the sixth largest solid waste management company in the
United States.
