Bill Carter

BILL CARTER is the President of Fuse Integrated Sports Marketing A 2001
recipient of Street & Smith’s Sports Business Journal’s Forty Under 40
Award as one of the “most influential and important young executives in
sports,” Bill has helped pioneer the corporate action sports
marketplace. Since 1998, Bill has developed Fuse Sports Marketing into
the most widely respected action sports marketing services firm in the
world. A recognized authority in action and adventure sports, Bill is
widely quoted in The New York Times, Ad Age, Business 2.0, Brandweek,
Sports Business Journal, and other media. In addition, Bill has been a
guest speaker at numerous sports marketing conferences and university
seminars, including IEG Sponsorship Conference, Interactive Sports West,
The Outdoor Retailer Show, Ohio University and New York University.
Prior to joining Fuse, Bill created his own successful independent
consultancy in New York, assisting corporations with marketing programs
focused on alternative and mainstream sports. Clients included Harper
Collins Publishing and DMB&B Advertising. Simultaneously, Bill earned
recognition as an Associate Adjunct Professor of Marketing at New York
University’s highly respected Sports, Entertainment, and Event Marketing
program, where he taught Introduction to Sports Marketing and The Sports
Agent. Bill began his professional career in the Athletic Department of
Michigan State University. He later managed athlete endorsement and
corporate sponsorship programs at Vantage Sports Management (New York,
NY) and then at CMI/SFX Entertainment (Totowa, NJ.) Among his
accomplishments were sponsorship and athlete endorsement programs for
clients like Walt Disney World, Evian and Nike. Bill is a graduate of
Gettysburg College (BA, Creative Writing) and Michigan State University
(MS, Sports Marketing). He spends some of his time out of the office
surfing, snowboarding and fly-fishing.
