AXEL MERK is President of Merk Investments Ltd., General Partner of
Adaptive Growth Fund and President of Diomedes Ltd. Previously, he has
worked for AIQ, Inc., Gerald Appel’s Signalert Corporation and William
Finnegan Associates. Mr. Merk holds a Bachelor’s degree in business
economics as well as a Master’s degree in computer science from Brown
University. His research has included the use of computers and
mathematics in finance such as artificial intelligence, decision support
systems and regression analysis. He keeps close ties to universities,
speaks at conferences and has published a paper in Adaptive Intelligent
Systems. Mr. Merk is married and has one child.
