ARUN GUPTA, Chairman and CEO of NeuVis, Inc., is a futurist,
technologist and business strategist with successful experience starting
and growing companies. In 1981 Mr. Gupta founded DataEase International,
Inc., a PC database and rapid application development tools company that
ultimately grew to more than 400 people worldwide. He served as Chairman
until 1992, at which time its revenues reached $35 million. In 1993 he
founded Rapid Enterprise, a client/server tools company that was
subsequently acquired by the Symantec Corporation. In 1995 Mr. Gupta and
a group of developers began to develop a new generation of tools for
online applications. In 1997 they incorporated as InterObjects, Inc. As
the company’s technology and business strategy evolved, the company’s
name was changed, first to eComAgents in late 1998 and finally to NeuVis
in 1999. In 1996 he also served as the Chief Technology Officer of Home
Financial Network, a company that provides online banking solutions for
banks and their customers, and he served on the HFN Board of Directors
until its recent acquisition by Sybase. Before starting DataEase, Mr.
Gupta was Manager of Software Development at the Bunker Ramo
Corporation, where he was responsible for its bank branch automation and
ATM products. While at Bunker Ramo, Mr. Gupta also worked on the
creation of the NASDAQ exchange as a software engineer. He holds a
Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Telecommunications from Punjab
University in India. Mr. Gupta holds a Master’s degree in Computer
Science from the Polytechnic Institute of New York, one of the six
universities participating in the ARPANet project (original Internet);
his master’s thesis was on the ARPANet.
