Alan H. Fishman

ALAN H. FISHMAN is President and Chief Executive Officer of Independence
Community Bank Corp. Mr. Fishman assumed the leadership at Independence
Community Bank in March 2001 when he was elected President and Chief
Executive Officer. After a brief period working in his family’s
business, Mr. Fishman has devoted his entire business career to the
financial services industry. He held a variety of senior executive
positions at Chemical Bank, a JP Morgan Chase predecessor, and A.I.G.
Prior to Independence Community Bank, from 1999 to 2000, Mr. Fishman was
CEO of ContiFinancial Corporation. Mr. Fishman serves on the Board of
Directors of KeySpan Corporation where he is Chairman of the Audit
Committee, and Independence Community Bank Corp.
