Frederick A. Smith – Leap Group (leap)

FREDERICK A. SMITH, a co-founder of The Leap Group, was elected Chairman and Chief Executive Officer in March, 1998 and has served as a director and officer since the Company's inception. As a strong proponent of alternative media, Mr. Smith established Quantum Leap Communications, (QLC) The Leap Group's new media and technology subsidiary, in January, 1997 and presently also holds the title of President of QLC. From January, 1991 until the formation of Leap in September, 1993, Mr. Smith was employed by DDB Needham Chicago, where he was a vice president, executive producer. While there, his principal accounts were Bud Light, Michelob (for which he produced a commercial featuring Phil Collins), Discover Card Services, General Mills and Audi. Mr. Smith's previous experience includes one year at Young and Rubicam, Chicago, where he was responsible for the Old Style 'Heart of the Heartland' campaign, and five years at Leo Burnett, Chicago, where his client list includes McDonald's, Kellogg's and Untied Airlines.
