RUTH M. SHUMAN, President and Chief Executive Officer of Gentra Systems,
Inc., has been with the company since its founding in 1988. Previously
she was a faculty member at North Carolina State University. She
received her BS degree in Animal Science and her MS and PhD degrees in
Genetics from the University of Minnesota. Dr. Shuman's scientific area
of expertise is in the area of genetic engineering. She has broad
experience in nucleic acid purification techniques and is listed as co-
