Michael Brown – Quantum Corporation (dss)

MICHAEL A. BROWN is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Quantum Corporation. Mr. Brown joined Quantum in 1984 and held various marketing positions until 1992 when he became the Chief Operating Officer responsible for the company's hard disk drive business. When Quantum formed divisions in 1993, Mr. Brown was named President of the company's desktop products group, which developed storage products for PCs. Under Mr. Brown's leadership, this group grew from a run rate of approximately $1 billion to more than $3 billion. He was promoted to Chief Executive Officer in September 1995, and then to Chairman of the Board in May 1998. Since that time, Quantum has expanded rapidly into storage systems businesses, growing 10 times in the past four years through acquisitions. Mr. Brown also serves on the Board of Digital Impact.
