Thomas Chapman – Equifax Inc (efx)

THOMAS F. CHAPMAN was named Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Equifax, Inc. in May 1999. Mr. Chapman previously served as Equifax President and Chief Executive Officer. In August 1997, he was elected President and Chief Operating Officer, and in January 1998, elected Chief Executive Officer. He has been a member of the Equifax Board of Directors since 1994. Mr. Chapman joined Equifax in 1990 as Corporate Senior Vice President, and in early 1993, was elected Executive Vice President. Before joining Equifax, Mr. Chapman served for 20 years with First Atlanta Corporation (Wachovia Corporation since 1985). Upon his departure from Wachovia, he was Executive Vice President responsible for Retail Banking. In 1988, he was Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Financial Environments Inc., a financial services consulting company specializing in brand and image enhancement. Mr. Chapman earned a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Clemson University and graduated from the Advanced Management Program of The Harvard University Graduate School of Business. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Southern Company, Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce Board and Executive Committee, and the Board of Councilors of The Carter Center. He is a member of the Woodruff Arts Center Board of Trustees and chairs the 2000-2001 Woodruff Arts Center Annual Corporate Campaign. Profile
