TONY NELSON is the Chief Executive of Private & Commercial Finance Group
Plc. Tony Nelson (57) is a Member of the Association of Corporate
Treasurers. After qualifying as a lawyer with one of London's top law
firms, he spent three years in a legal capacity with Ford Credit in the
UK and subsequently held a variety of increasingly senior management
positions with two other US multi-nationals. For the twelve years prior
to the formation of Private & Commercial Finance Group Plc he was Chief
Executive of McDonnell Douglas Bank Group, which he built from a start-
up as an equipment leasing company into a profitable finance and banking
group with assets of over GBP150 million. When, in the 1990's, McDonnell
Douglas Corporation decided to withdraw from many of its 'non-core'
activities, prior to its acquisition by Boeing, he successfully sold the
majority of the UK subsidiaries and led an MBO of the remainder. He and
his two co-directors then grew their operation organically and by
further acquisitions, into the present Private & Commercial Finance
Group. The Group was floated on the AIM market in 1998. Profile
