JOSEPH GRABOWSKI, a direct-marketing industry veteran, has been
President and CEO of Specialty Catalog Corp. since May 2000. Mr.
Grabowski provides the company with the benefit of nearly 30 years of
direct marketing experience he accumulated before joining Specialty
Catalog. Prior to working at Specialty Catalog Corp., he was most
recently President and Chief Executive officer of Carol Wright Gifts, a
$130 million general merchandise and specialty product catalog company.
Before his tenure at Carol Wright, Mr. Grabowski held positions as
President and Chief Executive Officer of Brownstone Studios, an $80
million direct marketer; Chief Administrative Officer, Finance,
Operations and Administration of Haband Company, a $200 million apparel
direct marketer and retailer; and Division President of Popular Club
Plan, Inc., a $200 million direct marketing division of J. Crew Group,
Inc. selling apparel and home furnishings. Mr. Grabowski also spent 17
years with Doubleday Book Clubs, a $250 million book club operation. He
started his career at Doubleday, after receiving a Bachelor of Arts
degree in Economics and an MBA from Rutgers University, as a Financial
Analyst and acceded to the position of Division President of Doubleday
Book Clubs, the largest book club operation in the English-speaking
