Patrick Palombo – Wwl Internet Ag (783010.f)

PATRICK PALOMBO, Chief Executive Officer of WWL Internet, joined the company in September 1999. However, he has known WWL practically from its first days, when, as its client, he gave WWL its first big e- commerce commission. After studying economics, Patrick Palombo joined Quelle as a trainee in 1979. By 1981 he was active in Product Management Consumer, PC. He then moved to project co-ordination for export marketing to the USA and Canada in 1984, before taking over the Quelle New Media division in 1987. Up to September 1999, he had full responsibility for the strategic relevance and operational development of Quelle New Media, also taking over the area of Internet commerce. As a result, he has played a key role in the development of electronic media for many years. Initially concerned with utilising BTX for mail- order business, he was later the leading force behind the development of shopping via CD-ROM, Teleshopping (H.O.T. /Home Order Television), interactive television and the Internet platform. With his participation in a wide number of associations and institutions, Patrick Palombo has a "hotline" to the multimedia sector and the market's opinion makers. In 1999, he was elected Vice President of the DDV (German Direct Marketing Association), responsible for the e-commerce and New Media areas. Patrick Palombo was born in Tunisia (then a French colony) in 1956, moved to France and then, at the age of nine, to Germany. He lives in the south west of Nuremberg with his wife and two children.
