MICHAEL CATALANO is currently Chairman, President and Chief Executive
Officer of America Service Group Inc. He joined ASG in July 1996 as
Executive Vice President of Development and General Counsel. He was
elected President and Chief Executive Officer in September 1998 and
elected Chairman of the Board in July 2000. He was formerly Senior Vice
President of Development for Magellan Health Services and Chief Legal
Counsel for Charter Medical Corp. from 1989-1996. He worked in various
legal and development positions for Hospital Corporation of America and
its group health venture, EquiCor, from 1980 to 1989. Mr. Catalano
received his Juris Doctor and Master of Science degrees from Georgetown
