Shahin Khan – Sun Microsystems Inc (sunw)

SHAHIN KHAN is Vice President of Product Marketing and Planning System Products Group, Sun Microsystems, Inc. As Vice President of Product Marketing and Strategic Planning, Mr. Khan is responsible for driving the productization and marketing strategy for Sun's range of Enterprise Desktop and Server Systems. Mr. Khan joined Sun in 1996 as the Director of Marketing for Sun's Data Center and High Performance Computing Product Group. He was responsible for marketing, strategic planning, and applications engineering for Sun's Starfire server (Sun Enterprise 10000) and High Performance Computing (HPC) product line. In addition, he managed Sun's high-end programs for commercial data center and high performance technical computing, including management of Sun's large scale computing center in Beaverton, Oregon. Prior to Sun, Mr. Khan was Director of Marketing Programs at Cray Research Inc.'s Business Systems Division. Before Cray, he was with Floating Point Systems (FPS) as European Marketing Manager, based in the UK and site manager at the Cornell National Supercomputer Facility. He began his career with IBM's Data Systems Division, working on the LCAP distributed memory parallel processing architecture. He holds a Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Engineering from Cornell University and is the author of several papers on high performance commercial and technical computing. Profile
