John Rush – Micro Therapeutics Inc (mtix)

JOHN B. RUSH joined Micro Therapeutics, Inc., in May 2000 as Executive Vice President of Marketing and Sales. He was promoted to Chief Operating Officer in October 2000, and to President and Chief Executive Officer in December 2000. Before he joined MTI he held the positions of Vice President, Sales and Marketing, and General Manager at Boston Scientific, Asia Pacific, with responsibility for sales, marketing, finance, human resources, operations, training, and regulatory and information systems. This organization encompassed 400 employees, was spread throughout 15 Asian countries and generated revenues of $100 million from seven medical device divisions. Mr. Rush joined the Scimed Life Systems division of Boston Scientific in 1990 as a Regional Sales Manager, selling catheter-based medical devices in the cardiac angioplasty market. In 1996, he advanced to Director of Sales, directly supervising a 48-person sales force, which generated revenues of $120 million. Prior to his decade-long tenure at Boston Scientific, Mr. Rush served as a Regional Sales Manager for Coopervision-Cilco (now Alcon Surgical).
