WILLIAM J. MILLER joined Avid Technology as Chairman and CEO in 1996,
bringing more than a decade of experience in managing multi-dollar
companies. In this role, Mr. Miller is chartered with formulating and
implementing long-term strategy and market development and overseeing
corporate operations. Mr. Miller came to Avid from Quantum Corporation,
one of the world's leading mass storage companies. Under his leadership
as chairman and CEO, Quantum grew from $1.1 billion in revenues to $3.4
billion over fiscal year March 1995 and gained wide-spread recognition
in the industry as a leader in mass storage technology. Prior to
Quantum, Mr. Miller spent eleven years at Control Data Corporation,
where he held several senior management positions, including executive
vice president and president of information services; and CEO of
Imprimis, a wholly owned subsidiary of CDC. As CEO of Imprimis, he was
instrumental in directing the turnaround of the billion-dollar hard disk
drive company prior to its acquisition by Seagate. Mr. Miller holds a
Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and a Juris Doctor degree, both
from the University of Minnesota. He has been an active member of
several non-profit organizations including '21st Century Education,' a
joint venture between high-tech Silicon Valley companies and Bay area
educators to fund innovative educational approaches. Profile
