Peter White – Reflec Plc (ref.l)

PETER WHITE, 56, is Chief Executive of Reflec Plc. He is a chemistry graduate and a Member of the Royal Society of Chemists. After graduating he joined Shell before joining a coatings company specialising in anti- corrosion coatings. In the mid-1980s Mr White invented Kelvar, the anti- corrosion coating powder which successfully attracted business because it is two-thirds the price of its nearest competitor, stainless steel 316, and also has excellent electrical insulation properties. He then became Managing Director of Plast Chem Ltd which specialised in cryogenic micro-grinding and anti-corrosion powders. Plast Chem was then taken over by Reflec Plc. As Reflec was losing money, Mr White took over as Chief Executive towards the end of 1997 and then spent a year reorganising the company before successfully raising GBP2.54 million to restructure and refinance the company.
