JOHN BROWN PhD, MBA is the Chief Executive of Peptide Therapeutics Group
Plc. Dr Brown gained a PhD in Pharmacology from the University of
Edinburgh in 1981 and then joined Glaxo Group Research where he led a
team developing neuropeptide antagonists. In 1986 he was recruited by PA
Consulting Group where he established a group providing specialist
consultancy to pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. In 1991 he
joined Bell Lawrie White & Co as a pharmaceutical analyst and in 1993 he
moved to Sutherlands, the Edinburgh stockbroker, as Head of Research. In
1995 he joined Peptide Therapeutics Group Plc as Finance Director.
During 1995 Peptide successfully completed several rounds of private
financing and an IPO which listed the shares on the London Stock
Exchange. He was appointed Chief Executive in March 1997. From 1995 to
1997 he served as Chairman of the BIA Finance Advisory Committee. Profile
