DR PETER HEINRICH is CEO and Chairman of the Management Board of
MediGene AG. He received his diploma and his Dr Sc Nat in Biochemistry
from Munich University in 1984. He was a post-doctoral fellow at Harvard
University, USA, with Professor H M Goodman. Thereafter he joined Wacker
Chemicals (a Hoechst subsidiary), which he left in 1995 to co-found
MediGene and to become its CEO. He also launched and founded the
Association of the German Biotech Companies (VBU) and acts as its Vice
President. Additionally Dr Heinrich serves on the Board of Directors of
the Munich-based biotech company Wilex GmbH and PlantTech, located in
