Cees Van Luijk – Getronics Nv (gtn.nl)

CEES VAN LUIJK was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Getronics on 1 May 1999. He joined the company in March 1999 following a distinguished career with Coopers & Lybrand and its successor organisation PricewaterhouseCoopers, one of the world's leading accounting and consulting firms. Mr van Luijk was a prominent member of the team that negotiated the July 1998 merger of Coopers & Lybrand and Price Waterhouse. Following the merger he became a global leader of PricewaterhouseCoopers' practice that provided a full range of services to middle market companies, including audit, tax, legal and management consulting services. Between 1995 and 1998, Mr van Luijk was Chairman of Coopers & Lybrand Europe. He built up the firm's strength throughout Europe to the level of 30,000 professionals. As of 1992,he also served as a member of the Board of Directors of Coopers & Lybrand International. In 1989, he directed the merger of Coopers & Lybrand in the Netherlands with the firm of Dijker van Dien. This combination augmented the Dutch organisation of Coopers & Lybrand from 400 to 4,000 professionals. Mr van Luijk was elected Vice Chairman of the Dutch firm in 1991 and served as Chairman from 1992 to 1998. He managed the operation through a cycle of realignment and growth to its position as the leading firm in the Netherlands, with more than 5,000 professionals in 1998. Mr van Luijk joined Coopers' audit staff after graduating form Erasmus University in Rotterdam in 1975 with a degree in Business Economics. He became a Chartered Accountant in 1976 and a Coopers & Lybrand partner in 1982. In 1988, he was elevated to Coopers & Lybrand's Executive Management Team in the Netherlands. Profile
