Wilson Russell

WILSON RUSSELL is the Chief Executive Officer of Northstar Electronics,
Inc. He has a BSc (Physics), MSc (Molecular Physics) and an MEng (Ocean
Engineering) from Memorial University in Newfoundland, Canada and a
Doctorate in Engineering Physics from the University of Aix-Marseille in
France. Dr Russell was a university professor before entering the
private sector in 1977 when he headed a group of engineers and
scientists which developed innovative technologies and systems for the
offshore oil and gas industry. He then spent three years in government,
having responsibility for offshore petroleum production and
transportation systems. Following this, Dr. Russell started a consulting
company and a product development company. He was a consultant to Mobil
Oil on the $20 billion Hibernia Oilfield project offshore Newfoundland
in the mid-1980s. He invented an oceanographic system and established a
company with a subsidiary of Bell Telephone as a partner to manufacture
and market it. Among other activities, Dr. Russell has been a consultant
to the federal government of Canada, developing international strategic
alliances with England, France, Italy and the United States and to the
French Navy where he carried out a worldwide study to identify business
opportunities in the field of autonomous underwater vehicles. Dr.
Russell started Northstar Electronics, Inc., in the 1990s and is
committed to the aggressive growth of the company in the fields of
defense and homeland security.
