WILLIAM P. MCHALE, JR. is President and Chief Executive Officer of DSET
Corporation. Mr. McHale is a graduate of Villanova University where he
received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration in
1971. He subsequently spent four years in the U.S. Navy, achieving the
rank of lieutenant and is a Vietnam veteran. He joined IBM in 1975 and
is now a 23-year veteran of the computer industry. After 4 years at IBM,
where he was a salesman and corporate marketing specialist, Mr. McHale
joined Wang Laboratories where he had responsibility for portions of the
North American sales force with 250 million dollars of revenue
responsibility and eventually, worldwide marketing responsibility. Mr.
McHale joined Digital Equipment Corporation in early 1987 where he held
senior staff positions before taking over a sales organization in 1988
that eventually grew to have over one billion dollars of revenue
responsibility. In late 1989, Mr. McHale decided to pursue his
professional and personal goals by running smaller companies. From 1990
through January 1997, when he joined DSET, Mr. McHale was either the
Vice President of Sales and Marketing, or the President and CEO of
software and services companies. These companies, including Mitchell
Management, F# Software, and Component Software, were turn around
companies. In addition, Mr. McHale also acted as a consultant to a
variety of other small software companies that were in their early
stages of development. Since joining DSET in early 1997, the company has
grown from $13M in revenue to a projected $29M for 1998, has
successfully completed an initial public offering of the company” stock
and exceeded all analysts’ estimates for revenues, net income and EPS in
every quarter since the IPO.
