Wayne R. Hellman

WAYNE R. HELLMAN is the founder of Advanced Lighting Technologies, Inc.,
and has served as its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer since the
company’s inception in 1983. Prior to this, he worked at General
Electric for 16 years, the last four years of which he was one of the GE
Chairman’s venture managers. From 1983 to 2000, Mr. Hellman grew ADLT
from $900,000 in first year revenues to $225 million for the year 2000.
The last seven years had a compounded growth rate of over 40%. Mr.
Hellman conducted an IPO in 1995, three secondary offerings raising $150
million and a high-yield debt offering of $100 million at an 8% coupon.
During this time, he also made seven acquisitions and four manufacturing
joint ventures in the Asia Pacific market. He received a BS in Physics
from Ohio University in 1968.
