CYRIL FREEDMAN (54) is Executive Chairman of S. Daniels Plc. His early
career was in publishing, advertising and marketing which included
advising major food and drink clients. He became Chief Executive of
Halls Homes and Gardens Limited, a Pentos subsidiary (1974-79) and a
Director of Pentos Plc (1979-82). Between 1982 and 1988 he invested in
and advised or managed a variety of companies. From 1988 until joining
the company, in May 1995, as Deputy Chairman and Chief Executive, he was
a Director of Apax Partners & Co Ventures Ltd and remains a Non-
Executive Director of one of its investee companies. He was appointed as
