THOMAS CHRISTLY is Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer,
Vice President, Finance and member of the Management Board of atugen AG.
Prior to his appointment in 2001, Mr. Christly was Chief Executive
Officer of THE internet.z AG, a small public venture capital firm which
was focused on investments in early stage Internet companies and sold to
a competitor. From 1996 to 2000, he held the position of Senior Vice
President and Chief Financial Officer at OXO Chemie AG, a Swiss
pharmaceutical company, and founded its subsidiary, OXO Chemie Inc., in
San Francisco, where he stayed from 1997 to 2000. Mr. Christly was
Managing Partner of the investment firm Lschen & Partner GmbH, Hamburg,
from 1992 to 1995. He worked as an executive in mergers and acquisitions
of Enskilda Securities Ltd., London, from 1989 to 1992. Mr. Christly
has worked for two auditing firms, including Arthur Andersen, and for
the Commission of the European Union in Brussels. After his studies in
Hamburg and Geneva, he received degrees in Business Administration and
Law from the University of Hamburg, where he was appointed as Attorney-
at-law.
