Sonja K. Tuitele

SONJA K. TUITELE joined Wild Oats Markets, Inc. in 2001 as Director of
Corporate Communications. Ms. Tuitele is responsible for defining
strategy and execution for all external and internal communications for
the company. This includes investor relations, media relations, public
affairs and community relations, and employee communications. Prior to
joining Wild Oats, Ms. Tuitele was an Associate Partner with Genesis,
Inc., a Denver-based strategic consulting firm. There she employed her
skills and experience to advise numerous Fortune 500 and ‘new economy’
clients, including Edwards LifeSciences, the Johns Manville Corporation,
the Spiegel Group, Steelcase Inc., 24/7 Media, Inc. and US WEST Wireless
in the areas of strategic positioning, brand identity and corporate
communications and investor relations strategy. Ms. Tuitele served as
Media Relations Manager and key Spokesperson for the Colorado Lottery
where she was responsible for all media relations efforts and was the
primary contact and liaison for local, national and international news
media. Prior to that, she was a Journalist, working in both television
and print capacities. Ms. Tuitele received her Master of Science degree
in Integrated Marketing Communications from Northwestern University, and
her Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from the University of Hawaii.
She is also a member of the National Investor Relations Institute
(NIRI).
