Sergio Magistri

SERGIO MAGISTRI, President and Chief Executive Officer of
InVision Technologies, Inc., since December 1992, has been
involved in the development of the company and its technology
since its inception in September 1992. Under Dr. Magistri’s
leadership, InVision received its first FAA certification of the
CTX 5000 SP_ in 1994. Today, InVision’s EDS business includes a
series of certified products with different price-performance
features. Prior to joining InVision, Dr. Magistri was a Project
Manager at AGIE Switzerland, a manufacturer of high precision
tooling equipment, in charge of new products for high precision
electro-erosion machining with sub-micron precision. He has
extensive experience in medical imaging as Director of Computer
Engineering at Imatron, and acquired his PhD in pulsed Doppler
ultrasound for the measurement of blood flow in the human body.
Dr. Magistri received his diploma in Electrical Engineering and a
Doctorate in Biomedical Engineering from the Swiss Institute of
Technology in Zurich. This interview was conducted on December
