Scott A. Espenshade

SCOTT A. ESPENSHADE joined Swift Energy Company as Director of Investor
Relations in March 2001. Mr. Espenshade’s main responsibility for Swift
Energy is management and oversight of the investor relation functions.
He also aids the company in corporate development, strategic planning
and government relations functions. Prior to joining Swift Energy, he
was in Washington, DC, with Independent Petroleum Association of America
(IPAA) from 1991 in several positions. Most recently serving as Vice
President of Economics and Information Services, his responsibilities
included oversight of all IPAA’s economic and statistical analyses.
Serving as the lead staff person, he had a guiding influence in IPAAs’
Oil & Gas Investment Symposium, US E&P Investment Symposium (London),
Petroleum Technology Transfer Council and the NAPE Expo. He also served
as Editor of the Oil and Natural Gas Producing Industry in Your State.
He has been often quoted and interviewed on television, radio and in
print publications including: The Wall Street Journal, BusinessWeek, New
York Times, Washington Post, Petroleum Intelligence Weekly, Oil Daily
and many other energy trade publications. Outside of Swift Energy, Mr.
Espenshade served as Chairman of IPAA’s Oil & Gas Investment Symposium,
as well as a member on IPAA’s International Steering Committee, and
Supply and Demand Committee. He contributed to the National Petroleum
Council’s Marginal Well Study. He is a member of the National Investor
Relations Institute, the Petroleum Investor Relations Association, the
International Association of Energy Economists, and the National
Association of Business Economists. He was previously employed as a
contractor on-site at the Energy Information Administration (EIA) where
he was responsible for analyzing petroleum prices and market trends. He
also contributed to the Energy Situation Analysis Report during the
Persian Gulf Crisis, and was cited by EIA for his outstanding effort. He
has also worked with an environmental consulting firm. Mr. Espenshade
graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a BS in Mineral
Economics.
