Russ Strobel

RUSS STROBEL is President and Chief Executive Officer of Nicor Inc. and
Nicor Gas and serves on the Board of Directors of both companies. Prior
to becoming President of both companies in 2002, he served as Executive
Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary. Mr. Strobel’s
career with Nicor began in 2000. Before joining Nicor, he was a partner
in the Chicago law firms of Jenner & Block and Friedman & Koven. Mr.
Strobel is a 1974 graduate of Northwestern University with a Bachelor of
Arts degree. He earned his Juris Doctor magna cum laude from the
University of Illinois in 1977, where he was elected to the Order of the
Coif. Mr. Strobel is a Director of the American Gas Association and a
member of its Executive Committee, a Director of the United Service
Organizations (USO) of Illinois, Inc., and a Trustee of the Gene Siskel
Film Center at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He is also a
member of The Commercial Club of Chicago and The Economic Club of
Chicago.
