Ron Van Dell

RON VAN DELL is President and Chief Executive Officer of
Legerity, Inc. He is responsible for Legerity’s overall corporate
direction and oversees all aspects of the company’s global
marketing, sales, engineering and production operations. Prior to
joining Legerity in December 2000, Mr. Van Dell served as General
Manager for Dell Computer’s Dimension product line. In that role,
he was responsible for Dell’s worldwide home and small business
desktop PCs. He joined Dell in August 1999, and in his first year
with the company, the Dimension line grew at twice the overall
market rate, exceeding $6 billion in annual sales. Under Mr. Van
Dell’s leadership, the Dimension business became a cornerstone of
Dell’s aggressive international expansion. Mr. Van Dell went to
Dell from Harris Semiconductor he was Vice President and General
Manager of the company’s communication integrated circuit (IC)
business. Prior to Harris, Mr. Van Dell held international
management positions in the US and in Europe at Groupe Schneider,
Square D Company and General Electric. Mr. Van Dell serves on the
Board of Directors for Synaptics, a leader in human interface
solutions for mobile computing and communication devices, and on
the Board of IceFyre Semiconductor, a leading provider of 5 GHz
wireless LAN products. In addition, he serves on the Industrial
Advisory Board for the Michigan Technological University School
of Engineering. Previously, he twice received Key Technologist
awards from General Electric. While living in North Carolina, he
served on the Board of the Engineering foundation for North
Carolina State University. In London, he served on the Europe
Committee for the Confederation of British Industry. Mr. Van Dell
is a member of the Switzerland-based World Economic Forum, which
named him one of the ‘Global Leaders for Tomorrow’ in 1993, and
he co-chaired a session on High Performance Teams at the Forum’s
annual meeting in 1994. He also participated in the U.S.-ASEAN
Business Council trade mission to Southeast Asia in 1997. In
2001, B’nai B’rith International awarded Mr. Van Dell its
Technology Achievement Award in recognition of his leadership and
accomplishments in the field of technology. He graduated with a
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Michigan
Technological University in 1979.
