Robert K. Cole

ROBERT K. COLE is one of the co-founders, has been Chairman of the Board
and Chief Executive Officer since December 1995 and one of the Directors
since November 1995 of New Century Financial Corporation. Mr. Cole also
serves as a Director of New Century Mortgage. From February 1994 to
March 1995, he was the President and Chief Operating Officer-Finance of
Plaza Home Mortgage Corporation, a publicly traded savings and loan
holding company specializing in the origination and servicing of
residential mortgage loans. In addition, Mr. Cole served as a Director
of Option One Mortgage Corporation, a subsidiary of Plaza Home Mortgage
specializing in the origination, sale and servicing of subprime mortgage
loans. Previously, Mr. Cole was the President of operating subsidiaries
of NBD Bancorp and Public Storage, Inc. Mr. Cole received a Masters of
Business Administration degree from Wayne State University.
