Robert Butz

Robert Butz is President, COO & Director of Polymerix
Corporation. After 11 years in basic and clinical R&D at
Burroughs Wellcome Co., he served as Quintiles’ first VP of
Clinical Operations, then as VP of Strategic Business Research
with Quintiles Transnational Corporation. His biotech experience
includes positions as VP of Development with Amylin
Pharmaceuticals, and President and COO of Copernicus
Therapeutics. He is an elected member of the American Society of
Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics and the American Society
of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics, and has served on
the Drug Information Association’s Steering Committees for the
Americas and Biotechnology. Butz received an AB in Biology from
Kenyon College and a PhD in Pharmacology from Duke University.
