Richard K. Matros has been Chairman and CEO of Sun Healthcare Group, Inc., since 2001, and he is expected to serve as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Sabra Health Care REIT, Inc. Mr. Matros served as CEO and President of Bright Now! Dental from 1998 to 2000. Mr. Matros was also the Managing Partner of CareMeridian, LLC, a health care company that specialized in offering subacute and skilled nursing for patients suffering from traumatic brain, spinal cord and other catastrophic injuries, from 1998 until the company’s sale in May 2008. He continues to hold a partnership interest in a number of entities that own and lease real property to CareMeridian. From 1994 to 1997, Mr. Matros served Regency Health Services, Inc., a publicly held long-term care operator, as CEO, President, Director and COO. From 1988 to 1994, he served Care Enterprises, Inc., as CEO, President, COO, Director and Executive Vice President, Operations. Mr. Matros currently serves on the executive committee of The Alliance for Quality Nursing Home Care, a Washington, D.C.-based advocacy group for the long-term health care industry. He is also on the board of directors of Smile Brands, Inc., and he is on the advisory board for RFE Investment Partners.
