Richard Effress

RICHard EFFRESS is Chairman, CEO and co-Founder of MedSource
Technologies, Inc. In March 1999, he co-founded the company, a leading
global provider of manufacturing and engineering services and supply
chain management solutions to the medical device industry. MedSource,
based in Minneapolis, has over 1,400 people across 11 operations in the
US and Mexico. In addition to founding and managing MedSource, Mr.
Effress is a founding partner of Kidd & Company, a venture management
firm, where he participated in the development and growth of Chatham
Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of custom electronic enclosure
systems for the communications industry. Founded by Kidd & Company in
1997, Chatham was sold in August 2000 to Flextronics International Ltd.
Mr. Effress received a BS in Economics from the Wharton School of the
University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from Harvard Business School,
where he was a Baker Scholar.
