Richard B. Klein

RICHARD B. KLEIN has served as ArgoMed’s President and Chief Executive
Officer since July 1998 and became a member of the Board of Directors in
September 1999. Between January 1993 and June 1998, Mr. Klein was
President, Chief Operating Officer, and Executive Vice President of
Angiosonics, Inc., a therapeutic ultrasound company. Previously, Mr.
Klein was Vice President and General Manager of the Edward Weck Company,
a surgical instrument and implant subsidiary of Bristol-Myers Squibb,
and President and CEO of BioPolymers, Inc., a biotech company developing
human adhesives, each for three years. Mr. Klein also served as an
executive with C.R. Bard, Inc., for 14 years, 10 as President of the
Bard Medsystems Division, a recognized leader in drug delivery systems.
During his career in medical devices, he has led the product and/or
market development of several high profile device concepts, such as
balloon angioplasty, patient controlled analgesia (PCA), the Mini-
infuser and ‘smart’ pump drug delivery systems, minimally invasive
surgery, endometrial ablation by thermotherapy, and ultrasound thrombus
ablation. Mr. Klein holds both a BS and an MS in Engineering from
Northeastern University, and an MBA from Babson College.
