Polly Sumner

POLLY SUMNER was named CEO of Alphablox after spending 18 months
as Alphablox’s president and COO. Ms. Sumner came to Alphablox
from Oracle, where she built and ran Oracle’s worldwide alliances
organization, was senior vice president of the Telecommunication
Industry Group, and served as the vice president of Oracle’s
Department of Defense sales organization. She has over 20 years’
experience in the information technology industry, having held
management roles at companies such as IBM, McDonnell Douglas, and
Lexidata. Ms. Sumner was a board member of CIIED, an information
and communications industry council in China sponsored by
Ambassador Dougan, and was an active board member of the Center
for Telecommunications Management at the University of Southern
California. Sumner is an active speaker at many industry
conferences such as SMART Enterprise 2001, Insight Capital, eCFO,
etc. She was granted the 2001 Women of Achievement Award by the
Women’s Fund and San Jose Mercury News. She holds a BA in history
and political science from Arizona State University and an MS in
international management from the American Graduate School of
International Management.
